Terms of Service

The agreement between you and stat-api for use of our API and website.

Last updated: 2026-06-28

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the stat-api website, API, and related services (the "Service"), operated by Verum Technologies LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company ("stat-api", "we", "us"). By creating an account, requesting an API key, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility & acceptance

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract, and you must not be barred from using the Service under any applicable law or sanctions list. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind it to these Terms.

2. Definitions

"API" means the stat-api application programming interface. "API Key" means the credential issued to authenticate your requests. "Data" means the sports, statistical, betting, daily-fantasy, and prediction-market data returned by the Service. "Subscription" or "Plan" means a paid tier (for example One Sport, All Sports, or Commercial). "Personal Use" and "Commercial Use" have the meanings given in Section 5.

3. Accounts & API keys

You register through a supported sign-in provider (currently Google). You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and API Key, for keeping your API Key confidential, and for promptly notifying us at security@stat-api.com of any suspected compromise. We may issue a shared trial key (such as `trial_demo`) for evaluation only; it is rate- and scope-limited and may be changed or revoked at any time.

4. Plans, billing & renewal

Paid Plans are billed through our payment processor, Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically for successive terms until you cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current billing period; fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.

Promotional pricing, including any launch discount (for example 50% off the All Sports plan), applies only while offered and may end or change at any time; standard pricing applies on renewal unless stated otherwise. Prices are exclusive of taxes, which you are responsible for. We may change pricing with reasonable advance notice, effective on your next renewal.

5. License & permitted use

Subject to these Terms and your active Plan, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to call the API and use the Data.

Personal Plans (such as One Sport and All Sports) permit use of the Data for your own applications, models, research, and analysis only. Redistribution, resale, sublicensing, or making the raw Data available in a public-facing product requires a Commercial Plan or separate written agreement.

6. Acceptable use & restrictions

You agree not to:

  • exceed or attempt to evade the rate limits applicable to your Plan;
  • share, sublicense, or resell your API Key, or create multiple accounts to circumvent limits;
  • scrape, cache, or extract Data in a manner designed to bypass the API or your license;
  • reverse engineer, or attempt to derive source code of, the Service;
  • resell or redistribute raw Data under a Personal Plan;
  • use the Service to operate a sportsbook, betting exchange, or other gambling operation; or
  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.

7. Data sources & accuracy

The Data is aggregated and derived from third-party and publicly available sources and is provided "AS IS". We do not warrant that the Data is accurate, complete, current, or uninterrupted. The Data is not an official record and must not be relied upon for official scoring, wagering settlement, financial decisions, or as a system of record. You are responsible for validating the Data for your use case.

8. No betting, financial, or professional advice

The Service, including daily-fantasy, Kalshi, and Polymarket data, is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute betting, investment, legal, or other professional advice. You assume all risk for decisions you make using the Data, and you are solely responsible for complying with all gambling, securities, and other laws applicable to you in your jurisdiction.

9. Intellectual property & non-affiliation

We and our licensors own the Service, the API, the compilation and organization of the Data, and the website, including all related intellectual property. League, team, and event names, logos, and trademarks are the property of their respective owners.

stat-api is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, PGA Tour, Kalshi, Polymarket, DraftKings, or any league, operator, or data provider.

10. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties including Stripe (payments), Google (authentication), Cloudflare (hosting and delivery), and upstream data providers. Your use of those features may be subject to the third party's own terms, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions.

11. Changes to the Service & availability

We may add, modify, deprecate, or remove endpoints, Data, or coverage at any time, and will use reasonable efforts to give notice of material changes. The Service is provided without any uptime or service-level guarantee unless a Commercial Plan or separate agreement states otherwise.

12. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate your access, and revoke your API Key, for breach of these Terms, non-payment, abuse, security risk, or as required by law. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7-9 and 13-17) will survive.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE AND DATA ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, stat-api will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the fees you paid to us in the twelve (12) months before the claim or USD 100.

15. Indemnification

You will indemnify and hold harmless stat-api and its affiliates from any claims, losses, and expenses arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, your redistribution of Data beyond your license, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes we will provide reasonable notice (for example by posting an updated date or notifying you). Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

17. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service that cannot be resolved informally will be settled by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial Arbitration Rules, seated in Bergen County, New Jersey; judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small-claims court, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property or stop unauthorized use of the Service. You and stat-api each waive any right to a jury trial and to bring or participate in a class or representative action; disputes will be resolved only on an individual basis.

18. Miscellaneous

You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger or sale. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.

Notices to us, and questions about these Terms, may be sent to legal@stat-api.com or by mail to Verum Technologies LLC, 466 Hackensack Ave #1265, Hackensack, New Jersey 07601, USA.
